Jackie worked in the financial services sector for 32 years and had a variety of roles which she enjoyed immensely. She spent 22 years at Norwich Union (NU, now known as Aviva) ending with marketing and operational roles.
Her proudest moment was being part of the team that launched NU Direct, a highly successful telephone sales, service and claims organisation initially in Sheffield – the first of its kind in NU. Jackie absolutely loves working with people and prior to departing NU she was leading seven sales and customer services call centres across the country.
Leaving to join the Swinton board as Operations Director she continued to put her people and business skills to good use, successfully leading and motivating large teams in the extensive branch network and several call centres to deliver their best.
Jackie has four sons aged 12 to 18 and her husband Ian has stayed at home to look after them since they were born. Living near Norwich, the family also have three male dogs so she is slightly outnumbered at home! She had to get to grips with the rules of football and rugby quite early on and enjoys supporting her sons from the side lines for their many sporting activities. Jackie had always planned to finish work in her early 50s and since the end of 2011, she now has the freedom to spend more time with her family and friends, travel, learn new skills, keep fit and get involved in some causes she feels passionate about.
Jackie first came into contact with Bridget when they were colleagues at NU and when she found out about Bridget’s vision for Dream On, Jackie immediately wanted to be part of it and volunteered to be a coach. The ethos of Dream On appealed to Jackie as she is very much a people person and is passionate about seeing and helping people grow and develop to achieve their personal aspirations and to be the best they can possibly be. Jackie has been involved with Dream On since the beginning of 2012 and is very proud to be part of the team.
