Russel Osman is an ex England International Professional footballer who played for Ipswich Town FC, Leicester City FC, Southampton FC and Bristol City FC. In 1981 he was involved in the John Huston film Escape to Victory, alongside Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and Pele. After finishing his playing career, he managed Bristol City FC and also Cardiff City FC.

In 1996 Russel started working in the media with Eurosport providing the expert opinion and commentating on football from all around the world. He also worked in the same capacity for the BBC, ITV, SkySports and Setanta. Now, he works in India for 6 months of the year providing analysis and commentary for StarSports on the football matches played in the Indian Super League season.

Russel has completed charity cycle rides from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Wembley to La Manga in Spain in support of Breast Cancer charities, in addition to running the London Marathon on behalf of Sparks Charity.

He has recently completed a mentoring programme run by The League Managers Association in conjunction with The City and Guilds of London Institute.

Russel is based in Bristol, is married to Louise, and has three sons and three grand-daughters.
